Default top of the line receivers?

Im looking for a new top of the line cd receiver either single or double din, not interested in dvd players. I currently run kenwood single dins in my truck and car with the wow features. Looking for something with a lot of audio features, processing.

Curently looking at the Clarion drz9255
Thank You

If you don't mind ugly... http://www.mcintoshlabs.com/pr...r.asp

Not as ugly... http://www.alpine-usa.com/US-e...-9887

Pioneer and Kenwood also have some pretty good stuff although I am not a big fan of either.

This deck is one of the better sounding head units to come along in a while, I have installed a few and I'm impressed to say the least

What type of Kenwood? I've always liked my X991.

Personally I could care less what those ugly things look like. That's like dating a chick with a hot body and a face that looks like it was ran over with a semi.

I'm in the market for a new home reciever and have gone to see what is currently available. They want $10k for some of those McIntosh recievers. blah I wouldn't buy one if it were $2k. For all thatmoney you would think they could afford to design a nice looking reciever. JMO

What about this http://www.nakamichi.com/flash.html

Also, are you just replacing your head unit or building a system? I am wondering what your use for a $1000+ head unit will be.

Well since waay back in 93 I was always into high fidelity sound systems. The rest of the system is not up to par with a 750.00 head unit but easily upgradeable. Looking for crystal clear sounds not big bass, grew out of that This is for my 07 frontier, my acura already has a high dollar system, although it was many years ago.

I have a Kenwood cd player that is having a hard time ejecting cds at the incline that it is mounted, with a kenwood kds-p110 digital sound processer(Had it since 1995) and a audio control 4.1 or sometin with a cheap 4 channel amp and self powered kenwood sub.
