Thinking about getting lo-jack....
I know someone that had their civic stolen twice and recovered both times with lo-jack.And I read on their site that they have a 95% recovery rate or something like that.So it seems like a pretty reliable recovery device. What do you all think?Does anyone here have good or bad experiences with lo-jack?
well, lo jack is only as good as it its installed. if a theif knows where to find it, its useless. most acura/honda dealership installation are either in the rear quarter, head liner or kick panel.
all it takes is 3 mins of looking to rip lojack out. even if you seen the theif steal the car, it still takes longer than that for the tracking to get activated.
all and all, its still a great service to have. just dont let them do so me hack job installation where it can be rippedo ut in seconds and tossed along side of the road.

Idiot put it under the rear seat, which happens to be something many thieves yank out when stealing an Integra, looking for the fuel pump kill (or to bypass it entirely). At least, when my car was a theft attempt, the rear seat was pulled along with the ECU, when the immobilizer kept their master key from starting the car and they were looking for the non-existent kill switch.
I've relocated it since. You can't remove mine quickly without a sawzall...
