Are we talking about an Integra here?? If so what year?? Also I am pretty sure that there is a tutorial on http://www.installdr.com on how to remove the radio in an Integra

there are to screws in the back on the bottom of the radio. one on each side, u can reach them with having to take out the consoles, it saves a lot of time.

Does the type R have a special lightweight radio?

I could not resist.

I remove the entire center console and lighter to get to the 2 8mm screws that are attached to the bottom of the radio. Some can get to the screws without doing this.
