Default Suggested frequency?

Well, I just took off the cover on my Rockford Fosgate amplifier. I was wondering, how would I decide which frequency to use? (I'd read my manual but I misplaced it somewhere)

from the information you provided that is the best guess i can give you. if you want to tell me whether or not you're using it for your subs, door speakers, front, rear, etc i can probably help you. without that its just picking a random number

I mean, hey you can at least ask.

I'm using it for my subwoofers, it's a 10" Alpine Type R.

The amplifier is about 1250 watts?

Anywhere between 80hz~100hz. Just try different frequencys until you find one that you like.

LOL!!

But seriously, to the OP, when you ask a question, it would help if you provided some specifics on your setup. It would help us give you the proper information and minimize the flames...

Id probably try somewhere between 45-70hz depending on the midbass performance of your front stage. personally i think 100hz is way to high

Your amp is 1x850W RMS into 4 ohms @ 14.4V. your sub is 500W continuous, [RMS] and it better be the SWR-1022D, [DVC 2 ohm] your amp is not stable below 4 ohms when bridged, you will wire the VCs in series for a 4 ohm final load, and you will have to be careful with the amps gain so you do not over-drive the sub, the amp is way "overpowered" for that sub.
If it is the SWR-1042D, [DVC 4 ohm] you will have to wire it in series for an 8 ohm final load, [your amp will make 425W RMS into 8 ohms] a little underpowered,
I would start at 100Hz, depending on box sub is in, and go down from there to what sounds the best to you with your music. 94
