such a thing: alarm remote module?
Don't laugh, but I put together a home made alarm made out of 2 relays, a diode, a hood pin switch, a siren, and a rocker switch. It can be expanded to accept any brand sensors but only use the instant trigger. It's for poor *** bastards with old *** cars. It detects the door or hood opening and works like a kill switch. I can keep adding to it all I want, but I have one problem. The whole thing is controlled by a hidden exterior switch, and that sucks. I can hide the switch inside, and then let the user always set off the alarm and then hit the switch. I can work in a delay, but that's a lot of extra relays and not worth it IMO. I want to keep it easy for DIY.
So what I need is a remote module or basically something that flips a switch when you press the button on a remote. Does such a thing exist? It has to be cheap and simple. I could do it with keyless entry but that drives up the price and defeats the purpose.

I know of nothing like that, we used to make remote starts with a few relays and a small 12V solenoid with a SPDT micro switch on it, [the solenoid plunger would switch the micro switch back and forth each time it was activated] we also used them for a "valet" on the acc. wire of a system, so it could be put into valet, but you still need a RF source of some kind, maybe a cheap key less unit or door popper RF unit, I have seen 2ch door popper RF units for under $20, there may even be a cheaper 1ch unit.
