Default sub tuning

hey wats up i just had a very quick question. i like to listen to alot of techno and acoustic music and also hip hop.
my question is: how many hz should i tune my sub box or what type of enclosure should i use? if you could help me out with
that i would really much appreciate it!

Ported always imo.

Best advice i got regarding boxes came from the owner of JBL

When going with a ported box, go as big as you can, tune as low as you can, and EQ out the peak (if there is one.) Also poly-stuff the box at up to ~1.25lbs of stuffing per cubic foot, which will effectively lower the port tune a bit more.

It really depends on which sub you have and how low it can play. I know with my Type-R's I built a box with a port tuned to
27Hz as the Type-R starts to break up below 25Hz. My musical taste ranges from metal to acoustic to electronic, and all genres
sound good and natural with this setup.

most people tune between 34-40 hz, i like it lower, around 30 Hz, the only thing you have to watch for is that below the tuning Hz, a ported box will unload and the subs will see no back pressure, which is real bad.

first things first? what sub do you have? how much power is it getting now (rms)?
