stop the rattle
i started gettin creaks n rattles after puttin in the exhaust .. n from i heard its normal.. the only thing i can suggest is the sound insulation stuff n put it everywhere.. or u can just like was said before, turn up the radio
if its coming from the exhaust the only thing is dynomat to line the trunk and stuff. if the trunk lid, licence plate or stuff like that is rattleing, u can use egg crate foam. like the stuff u put in your bed. and stuff it everywhere it can be stuffed.
Your best bet is Dynamat... if you can afford the system i think you can scrounge up 30 dollars for a strip of Dynamat to increase bass and dampen the noise.

Even better bet than dynamat...is B QUIET http://www.b-quiet.com/ it's the same stuff, but way cheaper.
both products make panels heavier to reduce the harmonic vibrations that take away from your music.
The b quiet is also available on ebay, and it's produced in Western Canada, so I don't know about shipping...Take a look, it's worth it to save like 35%

OMG!
Just leave the carpet out...pick up the ladies with the chrome
Bling Bling
Anyways...how long did that take you, was taking the carpet out difficult, and most importantly, did it reduce road noise with the stereo off? how much? very noticible? I'm dying to do this mod myself, with b-quiet and the b-quiet paint on sound deadener (no more cutting sheets!)
How much did it cost!? Wow.!

The sound deadening took about 6 hours in all. I have 2 layers on the floor and 1 layer everywhere else. There is nothing uncovered from the firewall back. The difference is night and day. There is about $1600 worth in the car, but I didn't pay that much since I'm a sponsored USAC competitor.
The car has been in the shop since Thanksgiving and should be finished in 4 weeks with a $12k install.

If your on a budget, go to a roofing supply store and get some "Ice and Water" shield. Its made of the same asphault/tar composition as dynamat, and is self adhesive on one side. (However it is fairly thin and requires at least 2 layers.) But being WAAAY cheaper than dynamat, that shouldn't be a problem.
Must of the time rattle comes from the heat shield when you start messing up with your cat (if you stll have it), just lose it and tight it up again.
If the problem is on the doors or panels, you can use that sprayed sound deadening stuff that Rockford, Dynamat, and other companies make. It is lighter than the mat and can reach places where the other stuff won't
Edit: Ah, it is cheaper too!

how much is that spray stuff compared to dynomat extreme? during my lunch break i stoppped by a store and they didnt have extreme.. they had the regular dynomat for $39 for a small box/roll (about the size (height) of a small wallpaper or aluminum foil roll) i forget how many sq ft.. maybe 12?
they wanted $15 for the license plate kit.. how much does dynomat extreme usually cost?
how much is the spray stuff? can it be done yourself? or do u need to take it to a shop? do u need an air compressor to apply it? u got a link?
sorry im at work so i dont have time to look at this stuff until weekends..

My experience with the "noise killer" sprays is not good. First off, they're not cheap. Second, Most of them will not adhere well to panels that aren't properly prepped/cleaned. Third, and most important, they don't make much of a difference!
If you really want to do this type of sound deadening, go to the local automotive paint store, and get yourself several cans of "rubberized undercoating". This stuff is a VERY heavy rubberized paint (the same stuff the factory does your wheel wells with) that sticks well to ANYTHING. The fact that it's rubberizedd means it dries into a rubbery texture which works great for noise deadening.
And my personal favorite fact is its CHEAP!

Try b-quiet! cheap alternative...
i plan on doing it for march break, and they do make a B-Quiet Extreme that is extremly similar to dynomat extreme
