Default Speaker problems

I have a 1995 Honda Prelude Si, for those of you who don't know we have four speakers, two in the front two in the back, and on the dash next to the cluster on each side we have two tweeters, well here's my set up, stock. Yes stock head unit (Tape player) hooked up to an Alpine Six CD changer, NONE of my speakers work except my passenger's front and the driver's tweeter, which makes me wonder why, can a speaker get so bad that it won't play? Or has my oem amp gone out? But why do two still produce sound?

TIA.

I am pretty sure your 95 lude does not have an OEM amp, because a right speaker and a left tweeter are working my guess would be the resrt of the speakers are blown, the tweeter amd mid, [door speaker] work of one channel of the HU, [component speaker system].
The speakers are easy enough to check, [basic test], use a batt., [AAA, AA, C or 9V, I use a 9V] to "pulse" the speaker, start with the rear speakers, [you do not need to remove them, unplug them and touch the terminals of the batt. to the speaker terminals, the speaker should "pop" and pulse, [the cone will move in or out, depending on which way the batt. is touched to the speaker terminals]

If the batt. "pops" the speaker the problem is the HU or the wiring.

Some ludes rear speakers have the "Acustic Feedback System" and they are "amped", identified by 4 leads going to each rear speaker.

To test the front speakers you will have to remove them from the doors. 94

Yes you can get a new harness, either the Alpine one or the adapter harness, the Alpine one you can get from an Alpine dealer, the adapter harness you can get from any car audio store. 94
