sound system
My next purchase fo my car will be a sound system (and also a security system).
I don't want to add much weight to my car but i want it to sound good. I want to spend like $700 or less on every thin fo the sound system (i don't want rear speakers just front, i've already removed the stock rear speakers). I mainly listen to rap. Can any 1 recommend a good set up for me? Also where should i put da sub? Because the trunk floor seems kinda unstable fo a sub (because of the thing that covers tha spare tire).
I also want to get a security system; i would like to spend $300 or less. Any recommendations? I will also be gettin' sum thin similar to the twin hooks steering wheel lock.

Get an Entry Level Viper Alarm.
Since you want Bass but want to save weight I would say to get something that is easily removable but still somewhat lightweight, I'd look into 10" JL or RF Subs.
I'd get a Deck with Internal Power and run the Front channels off the Deck and get a 2 channel amp for the Sub.

screw that, be a man and drop some 15" in that ****. just make the *** end a custom tailgate and get one of those truck pad roller mat things. just row the handle and all the **** will fall out the back when you want to be lightweight.
lol, fo sho bro, but i mean, you could use some 2 sided tape and do it like that, that'd be the easiest way, but with an amp you'd get real nice bass out of those xr's, it's a 6 1/2 inch sub and and tweet, i like them
where would i put the tweeters? would i need to get new door panels wit the spots fo da tweeters?
can i bridge tha front and the rear channels from the head unit so... if the head unit puts out 20 watts RMS to the front and rear channels can i bridge them (since i don't want rear speakers) and get like 40 watts RMS to da front speakers?
what about a powered sub, r those any good?

No you cannot bridge the headunits output. My recommendation.
The amp ATF suggested will work. Hook two channels to a front set of components. Bridge the rear two channels to a sub. The amp seems to be 4 ohm stable only bridged. I think he can get you an Arc 12d2 sub for pretty cheap. This will allow you to get 140 watts from the amp. Then you need a component set.

thanks for the info i've been wondering that fo a wile
if i get that amp would it add 50 watts to the power that da headunit puts out, so if the the headunit outputs 20 watts would tha total output when the amp is hooked up b like 70 watts RMS (so i would need to buy speakers that can handle at least 70 watts RMS)
or would it just out put 50 watts to each speaker??

my car doesn't have any tweeters that are seperate from da speaker, that's why i asked before if i would need to buy new door panels.

You can just cut a hole on the door panel in the same location that the factory uses. Component sets usually come with all of the necessary mounting hardware. Use a good hole saw to make a perfect cut.

I believe that all g3 tegs have the cut in the back of the panel for the stock tweets. I think my 96 did not have them either, but I read that somewhere when I owned it.

$700 is a small budjet for all this...If it were me I would get a 4 channel amp, good set of components and a 10" sub. Bridge the rear channels for the sub.
