:shakes head:

Well, I'm glad to see that people buy quality equipment these days... NOT...

WTF dude... I know you're probably on a budget but what the hell is that deck? That display looks like the Wal*Mart Durabrand decks... Typical Chinese knockoff crap...

Hope you bought extended warranties on all that junk... You're gonna need them....

Please just list how much money you wasted on all that stuff . I guarantee you could of got stuff that's wayyyyyy better. Maybe not as much rated power , but it will sound worlds better. There is a reason good companies sell a 200 watt amp for twice what you paid for that Power Acoustik amp.

I want dibs on metering all the stuff when it gets put in!

I don't mean to flame you. I kow how you feel. I was only making minimum wage at one time too. $5.15 an hour ain't **** in NY. I'm just saying it was miss-guided purchases. When I was working for minimum wage , I used to look for good deals on used name brand stuff. Or things that were on sale. Or for some type of "ghetto" hook up .

**** , I didn't notice you were only 16. Your just a little mis-guided on buying terms. Your looking at wattage. I learned a long time ago that you can't do that. There are alot more specs to look at and consider. The only part of your system I absolutly can not stand is that deck. I woulda got a 2nd job to get money for something with a name on it. Or at least looked good. But , you bought it with your own money , so we gotta give you props for that. Your 16 and Mommy and Daddy did not just hand you the plastic. I can respect that But I would try and return the deck or something. At least track down a cheap Alpine or Pioneer. With that set-up , your only looking at needing 1 set of RCA's.

yeh..i just turned 16 a month ago...maybe ill buy that alpine when school is out...im picking up a 2nd job over summer break as a grocery bagger...ill be making alot, the company doesnt even pay the baggers, but its always busy there, never a slow moment(been shopping there since i was little)...and its basically an unwritten rule that every customer u bag for must tip u at least a dollar if not more...n from working at winn dixie last summer, i know u bag way more than 15 people in an hour..so working there is kinda like 15+ dollars an hour...n i will have a really nice sound system..

You could just save up and buy one piece at a time thats what i did it took a little bit but it was worth it in the long run becuse i have a high end system.

I would return that stuff and if your low on cash like the rest of us are at times. buy it used piece by piece.. with a system like there you will be changing it all out anyways.

This is just my opinion but if money is that tight maybe getting a system should be put on the shelf for a little while. is it not at all possible to get a higher paying job or work more hours a week?

Dude. You bought the stuff with your hard earned cash , use it for now. Like I said before , the only thing in dire need of throwing out is that deck. Use it , then get a decent one when you have the cash. Next would be the amp. I know it's "3000 watts of pure power" , but it isn't. A 300 watt Rockford or JL would destroy that thing.

well im not low on cash as in ill get evicted or something...i turned 16 in december...i dont pay any of the bills at the moment..just gas, food, clothing, all the personal things....this system was bought with extra left over from my paycheck...i know my stuff isnt great but itll be fine through high school...when i land a higher paying job, n a full time job in a few years, then yes il be upgrading. i cant get a fulltime job right now, its against florida law i think...things will be replaced on my system after awhile but not anytime soon..........but trust me...im not gona be a full time working guy at age 25 with a half-assed system in the trunk..so dont worry

I guess I'm not the only one here with an inexpensive headunit. How much did you pay for that headunit alone? What's your opinion on that headunit?

I have 2 Civics, and they each have $50 mp3 headunits. In my hatchback I have an Akai CSV2001:

In my opinion, the Akai was worth every penny. Even came with a remote control. The Akai is just a placeholder for now. I will remove it and put in my Pioneer setup once I complete the power window/lock swap and get a better alarm system. No use in putting in the Pioneer only to have it stolen. Anyways, I found a review of the Akai CSV2001 on epinion.com: http://www.epinions.com/pr-CSV...layer

In my coupe I have a Phase Linear PMP180UCS:

Sure it's cheap. With the coupe being my beater, I didn't want to put anything expensive in it. Plus if I do get rid of the coupe, the Phase Linear will be included. Anyways, the Phase Linear is a POS. Manual tuning, no presets, no folder up/down navigation feature, and it doesn't read some audio CD-Rs and it sometimes will skip an mp3 file and move on to the next file.

are you installing this yourself? If so,make sure its done right. Especially with the amplifier power wire, make sure you install the fuse holder within 10 inches of the battery terminal, the closer the better. Ivhad to redo countless fuse replacements that when my friends installed their own, they put the fuse in the trunk. That would mean if therewas a short anywhere between the battery terminal and the trunk, they car could have been toast. thers VERY little chance that anythin could short within the 10 inches between the fuse and the battery terminal, if done right.

Just a little pieceof advice

also where didu get the subs and amp? if its not installed allready id take them back and get something more reasonable. I am a little biased because i have my 2 10" infinity reference 1042w subs with an 800 watt amp(230rms to each sub) and the amp turned half way up andit sounds great. I like my music mixed in really well. I think for you a smaller wattage amp and different subs would be great. The sub that u have looks pretty expensive also. Besides do u really need 3000 watts? You may need to upgrade your alternator also if you keep the system you have right now.
My brother has infinity subs and a 1800 watt amp and its WAY loud...so u might be able to get a smaller amp and a different sub to save some money.

OK give the guy a break, like none of you were ever 16, working a part time job at min. wage or ever went and bought something cheep.

I also see the advice that N0obs get when the come here and ask, a few of us try and give good advice but for the most part it's post after post of, you need subs and amps this and that, and I see it in the shop every day, people come in and it's been pounded into them that to be cool you have to have everything right away, so if all you have saved up is $500, and you have to have it all, thats the kind of stuff you can get. 94
