does anyone own the 12inch sony xplodes with the aluminum cone, you know the one 1200watts of power...if you have them tell me quality of these, and how you wired them

i don't think sony is a good sub...i've only heard the one at best buy n to tell you the truth, i think whoever is thinking on buying one should reconsider. I would suggest going with a kicker comp vr4(150 each) or jl audio w3(170 each). I know that the cost is much more, but the quality is great as well. Also these subs can take 500 watts rms. So i would suggest on getting a mono amp like the rockford fosgate 500db(450) or jl 500.1(450). Hook the voice coil in parallel for a 2 ohm load.

I have a jl audio w3-d4 n have i hooked up parallel to a rockford fosgate 250M. I am very pleased about this setup. But to each his own.

 

i agree with gokuson, i've never really liked sony's subs either, i have a friend who had a pair of those 12's, trust me, they lived up to their name(X-plod-explode)
