Default security measures

so with all this stolen cars.
i am now putting time into security.

my gsr is an 2001 so it has the key imobilizer (sp) but how reliable is that??

i should have my clifford alarm up and running this week!
along with some fuel cut off switches!
but best security measure is clean the garage up so i can park the car inside.

for now im just putting the ecu relay in my pocket when i parked it for the night.

is it worth running more than one fuel switch cause if they find one couldnt they just trace it to any other ones??

what you guys think. other than letting my pitbull terrier sleep in the car. any more suggestions?

sounds like a good start..

what Clifford unit are u running?

cause if it has a built in immobilizer relay, wire it up to ur fuel pump.

running more than one kill switch isnt a bad thing, just interrupt the fuel power line at different places.. and then hide the wiring..

hiding the wiring is key, cause the harder it is to trace the wires, the more time it takes to hotwire the car.. eventually they might just give up.. and all that is left is your car..

with out a radio, broken steering column, broken interior panels

or worst case scenario.. no seats, no wheels, no suspension, no doors, windows, locks, etc.. they might just strip the car in front of your house...

one more thing, once u put the car in the garage.. wire up your garage with a motion sensor that is hooked up to your house alarm system... that is so if any one does break into your garage, u will know...

ok guys switch is installed, used method 1 from the write up. my switch was placed near the fuel pump so no need for the relay.

i tested it and it works like a charm! car only runs for 2secs than shuts off.

now is there any problems that can occur from running the engine out of gas?

What about if I was a theif and I deceiced to modd your ecu right there in the car to get pass the imoblizer. So now the car will start with your ecu. But I still need fuel. So I ran 12 volts staright to the pump. Or better yet a diffrent ecu...... Kill the main relay and relocate it.

yes.. the main relay...

the big blue box under the dash...

that is the main relay, it controls the power to your injectors and fuel pump.

kill the ground to that and hide it.... will make the thief's job alot harder...

Don't kill the ground. The pump will try to find another ground. Safer/better to kill the power.

It is the most effective kill switch you can do, it is a low current ground so only a 1A switch is needed, I have done around 100 of them without any problems. 94
