A camera is not going to stop them from breaking into your car. Your just going to have some footage of them. Odds are you won't even be watching when it happens. A alarm is not going to stop them from trying to go into your car. A alarm will cause them to leave your car alone when they can not shut it up. And its drawing unwanted attention.

Sams warehouse have some good security camera. Mostly 4-8 channels. it can record in many different ways like you can have it turn on at certain time, motion detection, turn it on 24/7 and you can also see what's going on in and out of your house through smart phone. Best buy have some good security cams as well but Sams are better price and better selections. These cameras can record everything and when you need to go back to certain date and time, you can back track it or rewind it through a 250 gb hard drive and you can also burn it through a flash drive or CD and show them to cops.

I have seen a lot but it's really the spec on how everything is being record. I'm not sure what to look for. Recording view and stuff like that. I don't want to just purchase a set and going back to view the Recording video and it's crappy.

I believe you need to post signs that say you are recording video, to be able to use the video in court. As far as a camera the more you spend the better they work in the dark. iqye cameras are nice http://www.iqeye.com/
