Is it possible to install an aftermarket head unit and amplifier into a 2004 S2000 and still have the remote audio control features work? Best Buy installers say this was not possible.

check with PAC. They make units which you can setup to control your aftermarket radio with the factory wheel controls. There are two catchs though. #1, the aftermarket radio MUST have a remote control, and #2, you have to be able to mount a little infa-red transmitting "diode" somewhere within view of the aftermarket radio's receiver.

 

Also Soundquest, and if the HU has a remote input on it,[like Sony] you won't need the diode. 94

Yeap! I could get the part number once at shop. Also, need to program the module by using the remote control of the HU.

 

Whoever told you that is an audio illiterate or just plain lazy...
