Default S2000 PUSH START BUTTON HELP!!

IM TRYING TO INSTALL AN S2000 PUSH START BUTTON INTO MY 97 CIVIC SEDAN. IM NOT TO GOOD WITH ELECTRICAL SO I TOOK A WRITE UP I FOUND ON HONDA-TECH TO THE HONDA DEALERSHIP. THE TECH TOLD ME THE AFTERMARKET ALARM NEEDED TO BE REMOVED TO INSTALL THE BUTTON. AFTER REMOVING THE ALARM THE TECH SAID HE CANNOT INSTALL IT BECAUSE THE WRITE UP IS FOR A 99-00 CIVIC. CAN SOMEONE LINK ME TO A WRITEUP OR SOMETHING SHOWING WHERE I CAN WIRE UP THE BUTTON FOR A 97 CIVIC.

The mechanic either didn't want to do it, so he fed you a line of crap, or he's a total idiot and doesn't know that the wires that you need to tap/cut for a pushbutton start didn't change between 98 and 99...

If the writeup you have is for a 99-00, it's the same for a '97...

didnt me and another guy already tell you in the other thread you made that your mech. is a f*cking idiot. all you need is a relay and the switch. your alarm has absolutely nothing to do with it. you just need to make sure your connection to your starter wire is before your starter kill relay from your alarm. if you search you can find the pin out for the s2000 switch , and numerous threads about relays.

Please dont tell me that you PAID someone to remove your alarm to install a pushstart... like JSPECSIR said, all you need is a relay and some wire. And tell your mechanic to install the alarm back on!

The way you have it your going to fry your dash harness. The cig lighter can not supply enough current to trigger the starter. In time the dash harness is going to melt.
