Default reprogramming alarm

I was just wondering if there is a way that I can reprogram the brain/remote of my alarm to pickup a different signal. The reason why I want to do this is because I just had my car completely fixed up a shop and am paranoid about the shop programming a copy of the alarm for themselves to steal my car. I wasn't too cautious about this until this happened to one of my friend's friend. If it's possible, can someone teach me how? Thanks

Yes you can, but would need a make and model of the alarm to tell you how. 94

I'm looking at the manual and I have an IDEA of what to do. If I am a completely novice at this, do you think I should leave this up to a shop, in case I mess soemthing up? Thanks

Pretty easy to do, a shop may charge you .5hr labour.
If your not comfortable doing it find a Viper dealer and offer one of the installers a large coffee and donut to do it for you, it will only take him 30sec., I would do it, and have, for a extra large coffee and a small box of TimBits. 94

Sorry for the delay in responding. I've been busy as hell with midterms. But do you think you can type a quick a step-by-step guide for reprogramming my alarm? Also, I can use the Clifford 50.5X remote too right? Since it's the same. Thanks

no you can't use the clifford 50.5x remote. That one is a sst model and yours is not. They may look the same but they work on diffrent signals. Its real easy to do. Follow the link that fcm sent you.
