Removing the ecu?
iv been reading a lot of the threads and noticed a lot of people remove thier ecu on a nighly basis. How exactly do you remove the ecu? im paranoid about my teggy getting stolen being that i live in Socal and not too far off from the LA area and already in the process of cleaning the garage... hope someone can steer me the right way.. thanks
wire up a fuel pump cut off switch and don't tell anyone where it is.
the ecu trick is actually common knowledge to thieves now
if you wanted to stop the car wire a fuel pump switch or if you take something off nightly, take the distributor rotor.

it would be even funnier if someone figured out how to do a 3 second relay to flash the cel on and off when the key was in the run position, but have the ecu guttted, and bolted up in the oem position every night...
the theif would never figure that out, well not quick enough before i roll out with the shotty
**** theives, what saved my car numerous times hidden fuel kill switch, hidden ignitor kill switch, stealth 2 way alarm with no red flasher or siren (only near my house, it was turned back on when i was away from home)
i used chuckle when i would hear my pager going off at night grab the 22 with laser and scope point it out the window and watch them run....
i was very fortunate that my itr never got stolen but then again for the longest time nobody knew what i had, i always said it was a sohc lol, but from what i can recall about 7-9 different people tried jacking it with no luck
taking the distributor rotor out every night would be a pita, could also pull fuses along with kill switches so theif would think that you just pulled a fuse but in reality there is still a certain amount of kill switches...
but then again i sold all my honda's 6 months ago and now i own a jeep, soo many cars from my area are getting jacked including my bone stock automatic hx
so i said f it for now until i get my own house with garage, ill put a metal eye on the floor of the garage and chain the damn car to it, nobody will get it then

Removing the distributor, spark plug wires or ECU can become such a hassle. If you want security protection here are the main things to have to prevent theft:
1. reputable alarm (good alarm and bulletproof installation)
2. hidden kill switch(es)
3. replace the 2 ignition switch screws with tamper-proof screws
4. DON'T SHOW OFF your car
5. be aware of your surroundings

see the problem with me is that i am very limited in my budget... i i wish i could afford the two way and kill switches being im 17 and recently unemployed ...

You don't have to have a 2 way system to be protected. I have a viper 350 laying around. You just need the remote to it. I will give it to you. The remotes are cheap on ebay- yes I said it. Now just get yourself a good install, back up battery and your good to go.

if you're this broke pull the rotor. no thief is going to disassemble your engine to find out why it isn't starting. they will check the main fuses and ecu, if it isn't that 99% chance they will walk
The downside to that is the screw that holds the rotor button. It is not hardened material so it tends to ream out after loosening and tightening a few times.
it's basically a short term solution until hidden kill switches can be installed
