Default remote on off

ok, so i picked up this amp and sub from a friend and he isnt sure if it works or not(it was his brothers) so i only have a ghetto tape player in my car right now with no remote on off for the amp. i was wondering, i know this is a way noob question, how to basically turn it on and test it?

just run a wire from the positive side of the battery for the remote

so all it needs is a 12V input? from anywhere, not just the batt? so could i jsut split the 4g wire from my bat to my amp's mani power?

edit: could i use the powen antenna wire? because i dont have a power antenna?

DO NOT use the amps main power wire cause it is a constant source of voltage unless you wire in a switch to turn it on and off.. If not you will drain your battery cause the amp will be on all the time. Yes you could use the antenna wire, just check it with a light testor to see if it turns of when the car is off.

put a switch in it if you're planning on putting the amp into the car and leaving it in there, but if you're just gonna be testing to see if the amp works, i dont see any problem with running a wire from your batt(+)
