sorry if in wrong section, lots of people look in this section so i post up until i get my help, then ill delete.

installing an alarm in my car, i have to hook up a relay for a set of wires.... im confused..


(POWER DOOR LOCKS 6-pin)


this is how the diagram is pictured...


--------------brown (unlock switch) n/c 87a
--------------blue (unlock motor) ...common 30
--------------Violet (unlock) n/o 87
--------------White (lock switch) n/c 87a
--------------Green (lock motor) ...common 30
--------------Violet/Red (lock) n/o 87


then it says... coil contacts 85 &n86 are not needed as they are controlled within the main unit.

my question is how do i hook these wires up to a relay, if some on them are the same coil contacts ???? im confused on that part...

Everything else is hooked up and working, the alarm arms/disarms. ..... it just wont lock/unlock my doors with the button due to this relay problem !!

 

are your locks nagative or positive locks??? assuming honda you would ground violet and violet red, isolate and cap off brown and white, and green is lock, blue is unlock.

 

locks are negitive polarity

 

ok...directions are what i posted before

 

so green is lock ... blue is unlock ... where on the relay these go...

green - 87
blue - 87a


im still confused... if u could write out what wires on what coil contacts that be SOOOO SIIIICK !!

Does it have the option for the 2 wire lock/unlock setup because with these honda's since they are a negative locking system you dont really need the relay as you are only supplying a ground pulse and not a positive pulse with any sort of current

Try just hooking up the Blue and green wires to your lock/unlock and it should work, Otherwise you will need to ground violet and violet/red if I am not mistaken

 

im just following the manual, it says to use a relay... ahhhh i hate relays !!! never understand them !

IIRC, the relays are built in, so just ground violet & violet/red, green to lock, blue to unlock
