Default recommend an alpine deck for me

ok, i'm really stuck on getting an alpine deck. my price range is 200-300 dollars. i'm looking for mp3 feature and sound clarity and the best bang for my buck when it comes to features. i want an alpine deck that sounds good unamped and even better when it's amped. i dont mind having last year's model since they're cheaper anyways.. which one?!

i've been looking at the 9827, 9831, 9833 as well as last years 9815 and 7995

9835, you wont be dissappointed. oh and a word of advice, DO NOT hook up the dimmer wire on the harness!!

When I read the instruction manual it said if you leave that off its always dimmed (as if lights are on).

If its always bright I would recommend that as well as it dims too much IMO.

Does it leave it dim all the time or is it bright all the time?</TD></TR></TABLE>

If you have the dimmer wired up on the harness, then it is bright when you have the lights off. But when you have them on, it dims down. On the 9815 you can manually turn off the dimmer. On the 9835, there is no way you can turn off the dimmer manually. You must disconnent the dimmer wire than it will be bright all the time.

hmm.. looks like the 9833 would be a good choice. i notice the 9831 is significantly cheaper. is it worth a look? also what about the new 9851 coming out at the end of this month...
