radio not working. help!!
I just installed a Pioneer 3000IB into my 93 civic hatch. When I bought the hatch, there was no stereo, and the original wire harness was cut and crimps were on the ends. I cut the crimps off and soldered the wires to the stereo harness. I didn't get a chance to solder the rear speaker wires yet, but I figured it should turn on with the ACC, constant power, and ground wires connected. The car runs right, but my brand new stereo, I just bought today, isn't working. What should I check?
Start by using a multimeter to test the connections at the main harness. test your 12v, acc, and ground. Like the others said too, check the fuses at the fuse box, and the one inside the deck. most likely its the one on the vehicle because if wires were stripped and badly crimped they could have grounded out somewhere.
Are you using a aftermarket harness adapter or are you going to hardwire the deck?

hardwired the deck. check the fuse under the dash, it's ok, the deck fuse is ok, I need to get a multimeter to check the rest, but I'm probably gonna take out the dash and check the wiring.
Ok found a multimeter, pretty cheap one too, and I need to know what setting I use before I try checking. I believe I need to check the ground to the constant and the ground to the ignition lines because I'm not too sure on that either.
Just fixed the whole problem. The radio was not functioning properly so I went back and replaced it. The fuse under the hood was going, and then went so I replaced it, and now I have radio and a working clock.
