Default Quicky...

Is there a way to test out a car cd player to see if it works wihtout attaching it to the car? Just wondering... (like at home what wire is for the power and how can i get the power to work with it?)

one more question while taking off the negative part of the wire from the battery, hand to metal contact!! (-)part , would i get shocked?

And when it says GND, ground or whatever should i tape it to like the dash or any part of the car? (for the cd player)

Thanks

short reply - in a house - no, not really --- in the car without installing in the dash - yes

long reply - you could just rig it up to any 12v source - you could hook it straight from the battery if you want - just make sure the wires are fused properly so you don't fry anything. Supply 12v+ to the constant and acc power and attach the ground and you shoud be good to go

You will not get shocked with 12V unless you stick your tongue on the terminals.

Ground refers to the - terminal on the battery.

You can get shocked from the speaker output of a very powerful amplifier that the volume is turned way up. These terminals can easily see 60+ volts. (its not going to kill you though)
