Default Quick question on Audio Control button on steering wheel...

I just bought a 2001 used Accord and the previous owner had a stereo system installed so now the Audio control on the steering wheel doesn't work. I was thinking of getting a new system for the car and If i do is there anyway that the audio control button can be hooked back up to the system so that it works with it? Or do those buttons only work with the original system the car was manufactured with? Thanks!!

Order the Pac Parts SWI-X. Its about 70 bucks and will let you use the steering wheel controls with an aftermarket head unit.
