Default Question for installers......

Trying to wire up my dell dj so I can hook it up in my car.......
I found an adapter made by pioneer that will convert the cd changer port into and rca in. Then I just got an rca to headphone jack converter to finish the connection.

I was wondering if there is an easy way to hardwire the power cable in the car instead of using one of those adapters that plugs into the cigerette lighter.
If this isnt too hard how much would I expect a car audio shop to charge me for something like that?

super easy. You can grab 12+ volts at your fusebox in the drivers underdash.

Make sure you put a fuse on that line too.

a shop would charge 1/2 to 1 hr. depending on where you want the wire run to.

trust me, you can do this one on your own.

Thanks noober....

As far as the actual wiring...can I buy the parts needed for the power line at say radio shack? As far as the wire thats no big deal...main thing I'd need is the connector that plugs into the unit.
Also what size fuse would be safe to go with ?

you can just cut the cigarette lighter plug in thingy off and use those wires. there will be 2 wires in there, which are power (acc) and ground.
