So heres the story.
I bought a pioneer deck and I wanted it installed on a 98 civic lx 4 door. I asked a friend to help and he said that the deck had another car harness attached to it(maybe a acura cl but that doesnt matter). So I asked him to connect the wires for me and he tried. But at the end, after a lot of trimming down of the wires, the deck still didnt work. We switched the fuse for a back up fuse but it still didnt work. Bottom line is, some of the wires are very short. So heres my question.
Since we trimmed the pioneer harness down so much, is there any way to get wires attached back to replace those short wires?
Or are there ways to find the pioneer harness ? Its a Pioneer- 3800 mp btw.
I know I can pick the honda civic harnesses at stores. Right?

You'll most likely need that version of Pioneer harness... Meaning that the pin orientation of Pioneer harnesses has changed slightly over the years... But as the 3800mp is a new(er) deck, any harness from a new Pioneer should work.
I know they're available on eBay, just make sure the connector looks the same and has the colors in the same place as your current harness.

alright so any models around mines should work right?
And i heard people can re wire the harnesses, like i mean if its too short, they can pull it out and replace it. Is that possible?

So you guys cut off the factory plug? Cuz if you did, you just fucked yourself right there. If you didn't, then just go to Circuit City and buy the two plug harnesses then it's all plug n play.
Most of the national chains do free installs. You and your friend are not qualified and the install is going to come out like junk.

No. He said that the Pioneer harness wires are short coming off the plug and is asking about how to get a new Pioneer harness.
