Default Quality Sound Sub?

Im looking for a 10" sub that would sound good in a sealed enclosure .

Im considering buy a used JL 250/1 amp to power this thing.
I was looking at a JL 10W3v2 or something along those lines...

What are some other brands that I should consider for this 10" sub?

idq's are great subs i have own a couple in the past and they sound excellent. i have also owned a Crystal CMPX2 12" that was phoenominal sound quality out of a 12. but right now i have a 10" Audiomobile Evo getting about 150-200 watts from a Zapco 650. and i must say the quality out of this sub is the best i have ever heard!! thats my .02

Im looking at possibly running either of these too:

MRP-M350
1 Channel V-Power Class-D Mono Amplifier

MRD-M300
V12 AccuClass-D™ Mono Amplifier

How about an alpine sub? Or are they not worth the money?

Where can I buy an IDQ 10" and how much should I expect to pay?

Sounddomain.com is the only autorized place to buy ID subs. Expect to pay around 200 authorized or under 150 unauthorized.

I'd suggest that if you have the resources or abilities build a ported box for it and thank me later....

Id prefer to get a decent 5 channel amp to push my front componenets and rear 2 ways...but a lot of people say its not worth it money vise to use one amp...

What are some good 5 channel amps?

The new alpine V-power mono amps are little bass machines!!!! I've put a couple in so far and you get some SERIOUS bang for your buck on those. Cant go wrong with either amp though.

Image Dynamics. I'm telling you, you don't even need to buy IDQs. The standard IDs are great. This year's model has been redesigned (better than last year's IDQs). This year's IDQs have not been redesigned yet. Try it, I bet you'll like it.

So is this the redesigned version?

Image Dynamics ID10 v.3
Its only $130, considering you praise it so much, its a steal compared to a $300 JL 10w6v2.

Yes, that's it. Look at it. It's beautiful.

It's the best bang for your buck speaker IMO. I put in the IDQ and the ID. One 12" ID hit well enough for me. Enough to hurt my ears. (Powered by Phoenix Gold XS4600 I believe)

Try it and tell me if you like it. If you know your local shop, they may allow you to bolt one in and see if you like it.

I know magnets aren't everything, but compare it to this IDQ:

I cant really compare the sizes, not too much of an audio fan...looks like the IDQ is bigger, but is it neccessary over the ID? What the price and power rating differences between these two?

Image dynamics used to make 2 lines of subs (the ID and the IDQ) now they make 3 (ID, IDQ, and IDMAX). This doesn't count special run subs like the IDW or IDSPL.

The ID is their entry level sub - great little driver. The IDQ is their next in line. It was their flagship for a while. It came in everything from a 5.25" to a 15". The IDQ sounds better, can operate in a smaller box, and handles more power. They sound SWEET in ported boxes...I can't stress that enough. The IDMAX is well...the IDMAX!! It is currently available in only 12" sizes, although I believe there are some 10"ers floating around. Be prepared for the 16" to come out sometime soon.

BTW, the IDQ is currently on Version 2, while the ID line just got redesigned this year (now Version 3).

Is there a redesign planned for the IDQ soon? Is the IDQ v.2 still superior to the ID v.3? I'm also looking for a 10" or 12" sub, to put out clean sound, for my Integra.

I'm know how great the IDQ's sound, and based on the reviews I've read, the ID's would be great too.

I guess you are asking me?! Personally, I can't answer that one for you...the only sub out of those listed that I have personally heard is the IDQ. I will say with total confidence that you would be very happy with it if you purchased it. As for the rest, I would guess the JL would sound great too.

To find out about the IDv3 v. the IDQv2, call matt at ID...he'd be more then happy to talk to you about their differences. If box size is important to you, then the IDQ is the winnder....as far as SQ, I don't know.

Sorry for not being much help...

also..if you can get your hands on the elemental desing K-series, i would look into them. very similar to the IDQv2 and JL W6 and W3v2. cost less than the 3 when bought new.
