Have you verified that the ignition switch is the problem?

But to answer your question, any repair manual will have a wiring diagram for the ignition harness... Or you can check http://www.bulldogsecurity.com for the wiring colors.

The ingnition switch is the plastic peice with all of the wires soldered on to, that is the switch, The key cylinder is the metal housing tha the key goes into that turns the switch.

The black wire with the white trace is your starter wire. If that wire see's 12 volts it will turn you starter over. Providing that the clutch is pressed in or has been bypassed. Now you have to find a switch that can handel the amp of the starter or use a relay to trigger the starter.

Again... Have you verified that the ignition switch is or is not throwing 12v down the starter wire??

A pushbutton starter switch will do nothing more than mimick what the key switch does... If you have verified that the key is sending power to the starter, then a pusbutton will not fix your problem.

And wtf is a "female and positive cable"?

How did you determine that you're getting power to the starter? Did you put a meter on the starter terminal of the switch? Did you measure voltage at the starter itself when you turned the key???

All of these questions need to be answered (completely) before we can help you.

He is refering to the female connecter that goes to the starter silenoid. Right above the starter. Look at your car and to will see it. I would check your starter because if you do the push button thing its not going to fix anything if your starter is bad. Try this. Run 12 volts from the battery to the starter silenoid. Let us know what happens.

Hey hey hey, The I love you dude is going to far......whoa..... You can pay-pal a 12 pack but I'll take the good old fashion h-t thumbs up for payment. Lol. Good luck.

OK I'm having problems with my wiring from the switch out to the starter solenoid so I'm doing a push button switch (momentary) with a relay. So far this is what I'm hooking up...........

86: switched 12V
85 ground
30 constant 12V
87 S terminal on solenoid.

Now, I"m thinking of just tapping off the wiring off the radio harness...is that ok or not big enough? I may just run wires direct off the battery. Not sure. Just want to make sure. Also, can I feed both 86 and 30 with constant 12V and then have it ground triggered? So I'd hook up the 85 and 30 together then have the switch on the ground side...LMK.

PS: Don't have the funds to get a new wire harness so don't go there.

Added: BTW, new starter and battery. (optima red top)
