I'm trying to program a new 489 V/P/X remote to my Clifford Matrix 12.5x. The old one was damaged and no longer works.

I got it to respond to pager notifications (using the original 1-way remote) but the new remote will not send out signal. So I can't lock / unlock the doors.

I also tried erasing all remotes and programming them again. The one that came with the alarm programs in a second or two. The new 2-way won't send out a signal so the programming option just times out.

Steps to program:

1. Turn key to Ignition on.
2. Press valet button once.
3. Press valet button once more and hold.
4. Press the lock button on the new remote.

Any ideas anyone?

Just checked the original 2-way. It's a 489XD. The 489 V/P/X should still work right?

 

Did you use Vipers remote finder to make sure the remote was compatible?

Yeah I used the Remote Finder on DEI's site.

I just find it weird that the remote will recieve signal but won't send it out. Like it's not being fully programmed.

I guess my only option is to buy another one.

 

A remote can be defective and receive a signal but not transmit one.

Where did you get it? 94
