I have a 97 Civic LX. My doors will automatically unlock w/o anyone pressing any remote, and I can hear the locks continuously try to 'unlock' even though they are already unlocked. The dome light is on, but the alarm is still armed. When I try to disarm using either remote, nothing happens. I have to manually disarm using the key and the valet switch on the radio.
It will work fine after that and sporadically start again. Usually in the morning. On occasion, this has happened even when the car was not locked/armed. Only when locked with remote (and subsequently armed) When I lock with key (and no alrm arming), no problem.
Help?

Sounds to me like the RF output, [unlock] from the radio, [the RF for the key less entry is built into the oem radio of 96-98 Civics] is latching up.

You can try and reboot it, disconnect the batt. neg. lead, wait a few min. then reconnect, see what happens, if this does not solve the problem, you may have to send the radio in for repair. 94

My wife took the car to the dealership and they had no idea what could cause that. They want her to bring it back so that can do a more extensive examination. i am afarid they will screw more things up.
So, hopefully, your reboot will work, and save me some money.
