Problem with my subs cutting off...
Setup: 2 12" rockford RFR3112 subs, they max out at 2000 watts a piece. They are dual-voice coils and I have them in a sealed box.
The amp is a kicker zx1000.1
Ok here's the scenerio, I get in my car, turn my stereo on, deck turns on and then amp turns on. Bass starts to hit at low volume. I turn the volume about 3/4 of the way up, and BAM! amp stays on but no bass, I turn the volume back down and I hear bass again. I turn the volume back up no bass, I leave the volume up and turn the bass down from the cd player and i hear some bass again.
I have the subs wired up like this: Wire going from positive terminal on one coil the positive terminal on the other coil and then wire out to the terminal on the speaker box. Same thing with the negatives, negative to negative and then out to negative terminal on speaker box.
I think it might have something to do with my speakers and/or the way they are wired because when I un-hook the rockfords and hook up my 15" L7 it plays all day long at high volume, and no problem. Can someone please tell me what's going on and why this is happening?

Well first, You do not have enough power to run both of the fosgate subs. You need 2k watts of rms to power both subs. And cranking the volume up to make them play is stressing the amp.
Second, Your running the amp way below the ohms level that it can handel. It only puts about 1000 watts in a 2 ohm load. Your wire setup puts you at 0.5 ohm. Here is a diagram to follow.

Wire the subs to a 2 ohm load and play them. This will fix the issue of the sub amp going into protection mode. But will sound like poo from the lack of power.
