Default Problem with my alarm

Heres the problem guys.. My car battery died because I never turned on my car for like 1 week (its very cold here) and the power plug was loose. Now I got the car running again but my alarm no longer works.. it does nothing when I push the button on the remote. I have a Clifford Polaris 2 alarm do I need to reset it ? if so how ? please help thank you.

ps: I checked the fuses and there all ok

Hey I had the same problem with my old volvo which came with a 2way alarm system. I took it to an authorized dealer who installs alarms. They were able to fix it in 10 minutes.

First thing to do is check if the alarm is working, [has power] put it into valet mode, lets hope the Plain View Switch code has not been changed
Turn on the ign. press the * part of switch 2 times then the blank part one time, the LED should come on solid, if it does the alarm is powered repeat the above to take it out of valet mode.

Now do as tha_badguy suggests, program the remote.

To do this, [program remote] do the same as putting alarm into valet, press * button two times then the blank part one time, then press and hold the * button for about 3 sec., until you hear the siren chirp and LED turns on, you are now in Feature Select Mode press and release the blank part of button one time, pause the siren will chirp one time within 5 sec. press and release the * button one time the siren will chirp as you press the button, pause and the siren will chirp once or twice, press the arm/lock button on the remote siren should chirp, turn ign. switch off, your done.

Here is an owners manual for a Polaris 4... http://www.directeddealers.com...s.pdf

and an install guide... http://www.directeddealers.com...l.pdf

They should be very close to the Polaris 2, I can find no info on a Polaris 2, even on Directech.com. 94

fcm is talking about your plain view valet switch in the car, not the buttons on the remote...

Well it should be in Plain View

Look on page 4 of the install manual and you will see what the switch looks like.

It is supposed to be mounted in plain view, look around for it, maybe it is hidden under the dash console or glove box, around fuse box, it has to be there, if it was not installed you will have to go and get one. 94

PS... As I mentioned I can find no info on a Polaris 2, so it is possible that you do not have a "Plain View" switch, just a valet button, [would be hidden but accessible from the drivers position] I assume the P2 is a predecessor to the P4 and may be the same as one of the other Cliffords and that is why there is no info on the P2, either way you have to find the the valet switch/button.

Ya I found the manual and it says I have to turn on my car and push the valet button but I checked everywhere and cannot find it.. maybe I should just take it to someone who installs alarms and tell them to fix it lol

Well if you can't find the switch, then yes you will have to take it to someone. 94

PS Have you found the alarm brain, can you see if there is a plug in the valet port, and if so. can you follow it to the switch? 94

He said the only way to fix it is to re program it is this true ? is there anything i can do ?

Please confirm if it is a "Plain View" switch.
Does the owners manual call it a "Plain View" switch?

Let me ask you this, how, exactly does your manual explain how to put alarm into valet mode?

If you fallow the directions does the alarm go into valet mode, LED comes on solid? 94

PS... Where was the valet switch/button?

Its called "valet switch"

This is what the manual says

1.start the engine
2.flick the valet switch

thats it..

He told me this works but he still cannot re program it to accept my alarm key. I have no idea where the switch is (forgot to ask him)

He told me I have to erase it and re program the brain ( i guess) but this has to be done at a clifford dealer (none around here) and it may cost me $100+.. Is there any alt to get this sh*t working ?
