Default Problem Connecting CD Changer

hello, all...

i have a 91 integra gs and picked up a good deal on a used cd changer from an acura legend. i'm told by the previous owner of the changer that it would work w/ the stock headunit (3401) that's currently in my integra. it was the same headunit he used w/ the changer. anyway, the cd changer cable does in fact fit into the rear of the headunit. but the headunit won't turn on. i took the radio to a car audio shop and i'm told the headunit does not have cd changer capabilities. i have since bought a newer factory headunit from a 94 acura (3403) which has cd changer capabilities. but now the cd changer cable won't fit into the rear of the headunit at all. it plugs in easily on the rear of the other headunit so i'm afraid to force it in on this one. i'm hoping i can get this up and running by next weekend coz i'm going on a 1K mile trek from s. cali to seattle wa. i hope someone can help me on this.

thanx all!

mike

never force plug..instead look at both ends and see if theres enough holes for pins

I'm curious as to how it "fit" into the player that has no cd support...why is there a din connection if it doesnt do anything?? maybe the unit does support cd!

Anyways, if your toatally screwed...no fear, your gonna have to either get a din plug that fits the radio, and wire it into the din plug that came with your changer (pin by pin, sauder, wire cutting...and tada..a perfectly new cable)

in order to do this you of course need the pin outs from the factory deck (get a fax from acura parts depts if you have to) and then get a pin out (or better said pin IN) for your changer.

match each out to in, sauder everything together..and you will be fine , no cash lost.

Of course, if acura has a cable that already does this, your laughin.
