Default Power for AMP

It there anything I can use to conduct the power current over the line? It seems like the line is losing power towards the end. I think its probably about 8-10' long so I'm not sure what to do. I have heard of people using something to do this I'm just not sure what it is.

Actually, if you're losing power near the end, you need to check your wire out completely. Sounds like you might be using some cheap-a$$ wire (Not knocking you, some wire is just like that! ). If I were you, I'd see if you have exposed some of the wire as you were running it. Sounds like it's grounding out before it gets to the amp. Buy a pretty high quality wire with a thick casing. DON'T buy Monster wire, you're paying for a name. Go to a car audio shop and buy their generic wire. As long as the casing is thick enough and you buy the correct guage wire, you'll be JUST fine! Just cause it has Monster Wire on it doesn't mean that it's the best. Anyway, good luck.

increase the wire size
For 8-10', he shouldn't be losing enough power in the line to even notice. The ONLY way he'd be able to tell that he's losing power is if it were either a bad wire (corroded in the casing), or he's grounding out somewhere. Just my experience though.

Well I found out what the problem was. I had a fake amp. Plugged in a real one and it hit like crazy. I'm pissed.

Will post pics tonight of the amp. Its decieving. So if anyone has a way to put pics on the net let me know so I can show everyone what a fake looks like.

fake or cheap? You said inside there was chips..rather than a coil.it could have been a **** amp, might have had something blown inside or even just hooked up to an improper load (maybe bridged when it could'nt handle it??) It was definetly not 800watts, because that's a max rating, the 30 watts it prob put out per channel were definetly not enough to bump.

Just trying to make sure that you don't go shoot your friend without taking into consideration some of these things first
