Polyfill
I know crutchfield and all those ppl sell it... Is it worth it? I have a box made just under reccommended air space by .02 ft^3... The only reason I ask because it sounds good now is because I have my subs out waiting to do some custom crapet work as soon as I cna find and get some and because I am on dya 3 of my spring break cleaning garagwe and basement and I found a huge package of it just sitting in there... I am thinking about putting some in... How much if any shoudl I put and will this help a sealed box... I was low on room so went sealed... they r 10" subs so I figured polyfill woudl slow waves make it sound bigger... But the box is the right size almost and it sounds pretty good... Could use a lil more low end.... What do you guys reccomend... BTW, what I am cleaning has taken 30+ hours and needs about 40 more hours... 13 yrs f just thrwing it down there has left a pile so big from my family of 5 that you cna barely crawl through it to get out the garage door and its big.... Last weekend we filled up a 15ft by 6ft by 6ft dumbster al the way to the top and have another coming on friday... LOL.. no one has seen a mess like this... But once I am done, I have the rights to the garage for my LUDE...HAHA.. wokrs for me.. PLus I live on that floor and seeing it about 2x a week is just awful... Thnx guys...

and now to divert the topic a bit; what exactly is polyfill? and what does it do?

polyfill works for my application. when i built my E15K ported box, it was only 2.6 cubic feet after displacement. damn small so i added 2lbs of polyfill to it. there are noticeable differences (well at least in my application)
Some of the best high end speakers use polyfill and similar fillers. Just try it and see what happens. It's not critical how much you use.
It's the same stuff that's inside pillows; it's available at Wally Mart.

So did you just stuff it into your box or did you adhere it to the sides like described above... I have always seen it stuck in there and pulled apart so its fluffy... But ive only seen 2 applications of it... I think I will go with adhereing if thats what you guys reccomend... It was so cool going wtf is this and reading POLYFILL... I was like NO WAY....BAD ***... Then I asked for opinions and we r here now!
I never stapled or glued in my poly. If you use one pound per cube, the box will be pretty full of it.
Of course these were sealed boxes. In a ported box then you have to keep it inside, so this could be important.

well... I am in the same boat with sealed.. I guess I will either get some carpet in a day or so and dot eh whole install again or just polyfill and replace.. My system sounds shitty w/ no bass... Damn those bass blockers...
Honestly I put bass blockers on all my speakers less than 6.5" ones so I protect them at high volumes... I have never blown a speaker fomr midbass, but low bass tears them to shreads... Plus, what purpose are my subs serving.... My setup: tweeters up forn with 5 1/4's in the door, 6.5's rear, and subs trunk.... That way I get my bass and my highs just right... It doesnt take expensive speakers or anything... I first used bass blockers in My JEEP wrangler... 2 speakers and a sub... You do the math... Gotta have power to those speakers right? I did miss a bit of my midbass in that, but you didnt notice it unless you got in a competition car and listened to the same thing....
