Default Plexiglass question for those who build with it

On my NSX I have a carbon fiber engine cover. The outside edges are carbon fiber and the center is a mesh screen so that you can look through and see the engine. This looks nice but dirt from the engine and road end up on the rear hatch glass. I would like to get rid of the mesh and put a piece of plexiglass in its place. The size I would need would be about 4 feet by 2.5 feet. My concern is since this sits over the engine the plexiglass may not stand up to the heat. Is there a type that is more heat resistant?

i think it'll handle the heat fine. i used a plexiglass vacuum manifold for my turbo setup and it held up great mounted in the engine bay. (if you want to see a pic of it see my sig) do you think that covering the vent might affect anything negatively by trapping the heat inside?

No concern on trapping heat in because the carbon fiber one is an aftermarket one. The stock engine cover completely covers the engine.
