Default Pilot Audio Upgrade

My uncle just bought a 2005 Honda Pilot it has the sub but not the navigation system or DVD player. It does have an indash 6 disk changer though under the radio. The system sounds like crap especially compared to the BOSE he had in his last car. It wasn't the best but a lot better than this. What can he upgrade? He was thinking speakers but wasn't sure about the HU as he wants to keep his changer and steering wheel controls although I have seen adapters for that. No one seems to have info on the 05 yet. Can you change out the HU and speakers and maybe add an amp for the speakers fairly easily? Just wondering what would be best to do to get it sounding good. You cant feel the music with this you can hear the bass and stuff but can't feel it something is just missing.

well theres always the option of changing the amps and speakers then using the stock HU with a good line converter.
