Default Parking Smart

After reading a lot of Tekens posts regarding car security, which i am so far pretty new to, the issue of parking smart came to mind. how exactly do you park "smart" ? I know the obvious would be to stay away from bad neighbourhoods, not leave your car on the street etc, but if I was to drive to a mall nearby, where would the best place to park my car be? Garage? what level? outside? far from the mall? close as possible? My guess would be on the roof of the garage, mall security patrols that area constantly.. however, Mall security isnt something to rely on. Also pointing your wheels to the curb i know is another pointer.. Would the all knowing Teken care to enlighten us while i try to get a grasp of everything else you've written?

Much Appreciated from a security newb,
Alex

i always try to park in an area where many people will see my car. that usually means well lit (under a lamp post), and near whereever i am. also, i usually try to park near a curb to avoid dings.

ok i got some questions... why Cover up your VIN on the dash with a business card? Is that so repo-men cant check the vin to see if its the right car?

"Recline all front seats to the furthest settings during more than 2 hours leave"
maybe i'm a little slow today... but i dont get what that would do.

Thank you for the quick response, Teken.. I've got another question (don't we all??) Would you suggest I park in the "garage" area of a mall (open to weather conditions, un-heated).. where i see most import or "hooked up" cars parked.. Or, on the outside of the mall. Kindof a hard question, I guess i should just use my own judgement, but what would you do? Thanks, and by the way, the 101 helped me alot. I'll be sure to follow each pointer.

this is so thieves can't get your key made by acura/honda especially if your car is 98+ when it has that special chip in it.

This is just to make the thieves job more of a bitch. They gotta squeeze in the seat and push it back.

Just want to confirm. "Furthest" means far back? Or closer as the post above sugggested?

Wouldn't seat in funky positions attract more attention? Also I see guys with The Club facing up seem to be more noticable compare to cars with The Club facing down. But the common thinking is if the theif see The Club, they may choose another car.
