Default Out gauging factory, what to do?

I'm trying to run better wiring, than stock, for my new MTX 4 channel amp and am wondering what gauge should I be using? I think the stock wiring from the factory is 20 gauge...I think that 12 gauge will be just fine. Is their a brand out there that will protect against RF frequencies? Is oxygen free wires any good? Info please...

What kind of car do you have. Depending on what year your car is, the stock wiring should be around 16 gauge. Its actually not bad and easier to install. Run 4 pairs of wires up to the front from the amp. Sound quality loss...? barely none at all. If you are going for car audio clarity contests (i dont know if they exist) try running these http://rockfordfosgate.com/ezc...ey=74

I don't know of any clarity contest either...I just assumed that after market wiring vs. factory wiring would improve sound quality. My car is a 93' Honda Civic HB. I'm not looking to be the loudest, I just want it to be clean/clear.

16 g wire should be sufficient. Any brand will do, just pick your favorite. I seriously doubt anyone can hear a difference between speaker wire brands. RF frequencies would be more of a concern with RCA cables, where twisted pairs are recommended.

For all you ever wanted to know about speaker wire, check this site out...
