Default Need some help. Planning MDF work.

I am looking to do some custom work with the rear panel of my civic coupe.
I plan to cut out the speaker grill cover slots on the rear deck cover. I want to use MDF to raise the mounts to the height of the slots to become level with the rear deck cover. I already have all power necessary for my selections of speakers based on my mrv-f435 alpine 4-channel amp. and no worries about my HU, it has every feature necessary to get the job done right. where i go from here is my quest for suggestions.

i want to go with alpine type-x speakers speakers (6 1/2 inch).
-should I go with the components, or mid-bass drivers?
-secondly, is this a good choice for bass without a sub? (I go for sound quality, not ultra-boom boom)
-or should I stick with 6x9 coaxials?

in the front door panels, I am going to follow the same fill concept with the mdf, and blend the mounts with the door panel.
-should I go with components?
---If so, should I mount the tweeters next to the 6 1/2"?
---Or should I mount the tweeters somewhere else? (if so then where?)
-or should I go with coaxials and try to save some money?

finally, does anyone have a link to some information about MDF and the correct way to create the mounts. I want to verify that my methods are correct lol.

other than my questions, any suggestion for the system is welcome, just keep it on topic.

I wouldn't recommend mounting speakers to the rear deck lid, even with your proposed MDF mounts. Just mount them in the factory locations and dynamat the whole deck, then use polyfil or foam to isolate the deck from the cover to eliminate flexing and rattles.

I understand that you're looking for a "custom" mount, but chances are that the two pieces will separate at some point and cause vibrations...

Same thing in the front...

If you're looking to get the best sound with only 4 speakers (and no sub) you're going to want to talk to FCM about building individual enclosures for your speakers...

im not mounting them to the deck lid. im mounting them to the deck itself. i wish i could draw what i was talking about. raising it to the deck lid height is for a visual effect mainly. but stick with me on this one.

the problem with the stock deck locations is that the shelf itself rattles way too much, and the goal of the mounts would be to help reduce that rattle.

I am already planning to custom make some fiberglass enclosures for the rears. so dont even worry about that respect. and yes I know fcm has the ultimate setup for my goals, mine is a wee bit inspired by that.

But you're still mounting your mounts to the shelf, which to me, seems pretty pointless. But what do I know.... :shrugs:

ok, can we stop talking about the mounts and move on to the speakers and such? lol
mounts wasn't my only question. i merely wanted some more information on making them. not whether or not should do it. its mainly cosmetic for Car's sake!
