Default need serious help!

installing power windows, somehow one of the wires from the switches hit metal, blam, something blows. Car wont turn over, entire center console lights wont turn on. checked the stereo fuse and every possible fuse i could think of. headlights will turn off but car wont turn over and no lights inside the car work, no stereo, nothing. What could this be? need help quick, cars stuck in bad neighborhood with windows down.

Check under your hood, there are a couple of funny looking box shaped fuses. You need a screwdriver to take them out. The fuse is clear so you can see if it's blown. Go to parts store and buy a replacement one for the one that is blown.

I've done that before, and had the same problem. Replaced one of the funny ones under the seat and worked great.
