Default Need help with speakers

Hi all. I just purchased 6.5" components for the front of my EK. I wanted to mount them in the stock locations, but I can't figure out how the hell to get the wires through the door.

I got them through the fender into the rubber sleve, but had no idea what to do with that plastic connector that goes through the door. The only thing I can think of is to pull the door off so I can hit it with a hole saw.

Please help!!

Why are you running wires through the fender again?

If you want to run wires into the door, you can either drill new new holes in the door jamb and the door, put grommets in and loom the wires, or, you can drill out the unused holes in the molex plug in the door, and run wires through that..

Not actually the fenders, but through the loom that is sort of behind the fender if you know what I mean.

I may drill the molex. How exactly do I get it apart, and can it be drilled without removing the fender or the door?

I got big sausage fingers, and it wasn't easy for me to be in there messing around...

It's difficult, but yes this can be done without removing the fender and door...

However, if you have the ability to pull the fender off and set the door on a dolly, then by all means, do it up... It'll be easy as pie then...

Really? I guess I'll have to go back and look. I sat there for a while trying to figure out how to get a drill or hole saw anywhere near the leading edge of the door.

I pretty much came to that conclusion... I was hoping someone had come up with some slick solution I hadn't thought of. I'm getting too old for this stuff

If I remember right, there are v-type clips that hold that molex plug in the door on the top and bottom of the connector. You can pop those clips and pull the connector out of the mounting hole. Then, you can move the connector around and drill...

After popping the plug loose, you can disconnect the two halves and drill each independently...

I remember doing this on Accords going into the door for factory alarm disarm when doing remote starts/alarms... But with those cars, the connectors are all ooey gooey with grease... Fun times... LOL

There's a thread in the FAQ titled "how to run wires in doors" or something very close to that.

Yup. https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1920625

Didn't even see that in there when I read the FAQ.
