Default need help choosing sub sizes

ok...im thinkin about gettin 3 subs for my integra, but im not so sure on what size.

i want a set up that hits hard, but isnt really sloppy, so i was thinking maybe two 12's and a smaller sub, like an 8 or a 10, to keep the bass lines clean. any input will help a lot because i kno next to nothing about car audio

As a rule of thumb, don't mix sub sizes. It takes lots of tuning and knowledge to get them to sound right. The "sloppiness" of a sub mainly depends on the box that it's in. I see no reason for 3 or more subs, when 1 or 2 will accomplish the same goals. What is your budget? How much room do you have for a box? What kind of amp?

Depends on your budget. If you have 1000 to spend on the subs and amp then one high power 12 (diamond tdx , brahma, jl w7, e12a, etc) and 1500 watts will take care of you.

The cheapest route is a pair of modest 12" subs like solobarics and a jbl 600.1 or 1200.1.

got me some Fosgate PUNCH XLC 12's yesterday
im gonna put them in a big ported box and run them bridged on my 620 coustic ill face them backwards and remove the hatch cover
i have no midrange speakers, only tweeters i have no radio because i sapped it for the fosgates

anywayz, top_shotta, you said we shouldnt mix sub sizes right? but what about 8's for mids, 3 guys i know have 8's in a box on their hatch with tweeters on either sides of them, they place real nice, but whats the biggest i can play mids with, i have some 10 inch kicker impulses and i was thinkin of puttin them in a sealed box and playing mids, i would need a good crossover though....

The different speaker size thing is a basic audio rule, if you want sq. You should never run two different sized, or brand speakers in the same range. If you want two midbasses in your front stage. Make them both 5.25 or 6.5's not a mix.
