my sub box idea
you should not point the sub directly at the seat esp. you shouldn't have the cone sealed to the backseat. second you should not mount the amp to the sub box. third, have you ever built anything before?
sorry i didnt make it clear but the amp will be mounted to the back of the seat....the seats would be folded up. and no i have never built a sub box before.
i do like your setup and will consider it as an option.

i would not suggest that. one of my friends has his subs in his truck pointed directly at the seats and it sounds like *****. in the picture it looks like your speakers are touching a piece of plywood, are the subs facing open air?

i guess ill scratch that idea then...
im still gonna build a sealed box. the sub says it needs .7 to 1 cubic foot of space. ive read that the best way to point the sub is towards the back of the car. what is your input on the dynamat and stuffing inside the box?

ive heard of people doing it...i figure the dynamat would somewhat help cut down the vibration of the box (i just did my whole trunk so i have some leftover) and ive heard the stuffing gives better response. im not planning on cranking the sub or anything...i mostly listen to rock but it would def be sweet to have a hard hitting sub for the occasional rap song
sounds good to me. do it and then let everyone know how it turns out. you should use at least 3/4 inch MDF, i used particle board, it was super heavy duty stuff, and it works plus it was free.
caulk the inside corners, and cover it with whatever, i used thick black vinyl.

ill def take some pics...i was planning on using some 3/4 in thick dense *** wood....i dont know what its called but its almost like compressed sawdust, then i wanna cover it in carpet
Face it to the rear or down, only way to make it sound good in your car.

Funniest thing I've read all day
What is the issue? Space or visibility?

Yeh face the rear or you could try facing up.
I have my 15 XXX facing up and it gets louder than facin back.
If it faces front it wouldnt have nothin solid for the sound wave to reverberate off of to produce sound(I think
)
Good Luck.
