Default making a test/sub break in cd

i need to make a cd to set the gain on my 4 ch amp and to break my 12' 2ohm alpine type r sub. i downloaded the nch tone generator and just need to know what frequencies to put on the cd. a guy in another forum said when setting the gain use 50 hz for the sub and 1000 hz for the mids....is this true? i was thinking more that i should go by the max frequency response of the speakers. as far as breaking the sub in, what frequencies should i use for that?

1st off you shouldn't have the subs bang no louder than half of what level of music it can stand. You will stretch the voice coils bveleive it or not. Do that for about 5 hours and your subs should be fine. You can do the 5 hours over a few joy rides or so. As for the frequency, whatever sounds good for what type of music you iseten too. Ie. rap, rock, techno. They all need to played at different frequencies to sound good. Good luck
