what kind of sub is it. most 12" subs use a 1 cubic foot box. this would be 12x12x12 internal measurements. your cut sheet would be
2) 13.5x13.5
2) 13.5x12
2) 12x12
theese measurements are for a square box (very simple) using 3/4" mdf
you then cut the subwoofer opening in the 13.5x13.5 peice.
goodluck i hope this is what you were looking for.

honestly a square box is not the best sounding enclosure. I would not recommend building your own box if you have never done it before. Just buy a good prebuilt box from a local stereo store. Having the box sealed correctly is as important as the size of the box.

no, do it yourself. You have to start somewhere. Just find out what size your box should be (to accomadate your sub) and adjust the size so it fits your car nicely. You can tune it to sound nice if it is built decent and the size is close.

Honestly...it depends on your skill level. If you are good with wood working I say go for it but of you are not get someone that is to help. The inclosure plays a very large role in the response of the subwoofer system.
