Default Looking for shallow non cd deck

For my turbo build, I removed the stock head unit from my Accord to install gauges. I don't want gauges on my pillars or anywhere in plain sight. Using the old face of the deck to cover the deck when parked.
The problem however is that I am going nuts driving around with no tunes. I thought of installing a deck in the armrest, but it isn't deep enough. Thought of the glovebox, but it isn't wide enough. Is there any company any of you may know of that sells a shallow head unit, or cd-less unit that I could install? (Don't really buy CD's anymore) Maybe a thin unit to sit under the gauges? I would be happy to just hook up my ipod to something.

All decks worth anything are about the same depth. If you don't do CD's and don't mind losing the radio you could run an Ipod or Satellite Radio into a Peripheral Bass **** and then into an amp. Thats what I did in my sons Power wheels. I have also done that on a couple of scooters in town.

Is the peripheral **** for adjusting sound? I'm no car audio guru.
So I can just run the speakers off an Amp? What size/type of Amp should I look at? I wonder if I can get some kind of headphone cable-into-RCA cables to 'connect' my ipod to the amp....

*edit*

Sweet!!

the Alpine Ipod decks are a little shallower. And yes That **** I was talking about is for volume, and you can use headphone to rca or there is a part that plugs into the bottem of the Ipod and also charges with an RCA output
