Default Looking for new navigation system

well i finaly got rid of my alpine d300, i just realy wasnt impressed with what it could do and with the stupid *** saftey features i had about enough. before i had this i bought a eclipse avn 2454 which i realy liked alot the only thing that bugged me on that one was that the dvd's audio seemed weak. so now i am in the market for somthing new or the eclipse again. my price range is around 8-900 bucks. let me know what you think BTW IT HAS TO BE DOUBLE DIN

Alpine W200, Pioneer Z1, D2, or the best IMHO the 6800dvd( built in 6 disc changer!)

What do you mean "stupid *** saftey features"?

Although I was a fan of Eclipse, and their speakers still rock, the newer HUs are not the quality they used to be.

I do agree with 94_DC4 on the Alpine W200, although I am also no big fan of Pioneer, I would pick a Pioneer over the Eclipse in a heart beat. 94

I personally love the pionner stuff, the d1 is the same as the d2, just last years version. Its really easy to hack, to get rid of your "dumb saftey features" and i think it looks really nice once installed.

I am hearing good things about the Alpine W200 as well. But with the W200, you're only paying for the A/V DVD/CD player and screen.

If you want the navigation portion, that's another unit that you have to buy in addition to the W200, which is the Alpine NVE-N872A.

Do you already have the Alpine NVE-N872A?

It doesn't. The dvd-rom drive in the D1/D2 is PURELY for nav.

If you want the all-in-one unit go with the Pioneer Z1. It's well over your $900 budget though unless you are looking to buy the equipment used.
