Default Kill Switch

Hey guys so I've searched and searched and can't find any straight answers. So I've seen people install kill switches in their cars for their battery and was wondering.... My friend got me the SRR Flip switch for my birthday and was wondering if I am able to install that as my kill switch for my battery instead of my ignition kill switch? Is that possible?

the point of a kill switch is to hide it...

you don't install a kill switch for your battery. your alarm wouldn't work.

BUT you can use any switch as a kill switch. just use a relay if its high current.

Actually you can and its a good ideal. Suspended hatch thought of it first I believe. You would hook up your battery switch and then run a 15amp fuse as a jumper. This will keep the alarm powered. Actually it will keep the alarm powered and the back up battery charged/charging. If a thief tried to start the car it would pop the fuse and the back up battery would keep the alarm powered.

All alarms should have a dei 520t back up battery installed. So if a thief unplugs your battery. The alarm will still do its job by keeping the siren blaring and parking the parking lights- if its wired that way.

well the thing is i dont have an alarm because my car isnt daily driven. maybe a few times a month, if that. my friend was telling me since i was doing a wire tuck to run an inline fuse from my battery and to run my switch just in case for an emergency something does go wrong and need to shut off the battery

I am sorry. I took your post the wrong way a and did not give a clear answer to your question.

There are two reasons for the battery kill. First let me ask. Is this for a track car or a street car? For a track car and some classes at nhra and boti. You have to have a battery kill that kills the battery and shut the car down if the key is taking out. This is incase you crash and are knock out or unable to shut the car down. A track officail can get grab it and turn the car off. Keep the fuel pump from pumping fuel into a fire or oil dependeing on your setup. I have my mounted on the back of my track car.

Second is for someone thats just storing the car and does not want to keep using tools to unplug the battery. If you do use one Please get a high quality unit. THe cheap ones the key is loose and will fall out.

Also if you move your battery you should allways use a fuse to protect the main battery.

No worries bro! I guess I wasn't clear in the beginning. But my car is mainly a street car, I probably want to take it to the track but I heard that they dont allow people on the track with a relocated battery but I probably wont go anyways, and so that answers your question that I did relocate my battery. So in my case I guess that 2nd one is my option. So how exactly would i run a fuse for the battery and also connect to it to my SRR Switch?
