Default Kicker Solobaric VS Alpine Type R????

What do you guys think is a better sub, the 10" Kicker L5 solobaric or the 10" Alpine Type R Sub??? Anyone have these subs??? What do you think of them??? Im looking to use one or the other in my system. Also, the type R can handle 100-300 watts RMS, would 360 watts RMS be too much for this sub??

I can't speak first-hand about the L5...........but I do have a 10" Type R in my car and I love it! It is in a sealed box (.66^3 after displacement), and it is powered by a Rockford Fosgate 250a2. IMHO is it the perfect mix between thump and sound quality. You won't be able to hear it from blocks away, but it is plenty loud, while retaining excellent sound quality. I would highly recommend this sub.........but from what I have read, the L5 is a quality sub as well - tough decision (can't see how you go wrong).

the only person that responded correctly is bassisliffe...

the L5 is mainly for SPL
the type r is for SQ

so depending on what you are looking for out of your system depends on which sub. I had the 12" type r and i pushed about 700rms to it and it was pounding! Of course I knew it was going to go out one day, but it lasted me about 7 months. it was clean and loud. people thought I had 2 12's

Yeah i have type r 12 in my trunk ( i know its not a 10) along with the alpine 9811 cd/mp3 player and adjusting the sub controls etc...makes that sub perfect. I personally like it the best than any other sub ive heard. The S7 would be a lot louder but the quality wouldnt be there

uhhh, no

the SAME quality wouldn't be there

the same quality of the type r wouldnt be heard in the l7 BUT there is quality in it, somewhat

my l5 sounds pretty good, and with the right tuning l5s or 7s can sound very good, but not as good as a type r

kicker cvrs sound better than the l5s or l7s but don't get as loud

im thinking of going back to cvrs, maybe 2 15s or 18s if i can get them, but the square kickers are MAD loud

my 10l5 does not sound like single ten, cause (technically) its not (get it? )

rant over

Hmm, bassislife, your posts seem to be more intelligently worded than they used to be.

You have learned well grasshopper.
