Keyless Entry ?
Hey guys...Looking to get an alarm soon (clifford, viper...etc..) but I dont have power locks and am not interested in having power locks persay(sp), but I would like to run it so that when I hit the alarm the doors lock and unlock...what all would i need to do this and how costly/difficult would the project be?? The catch is that I want to keep my stock door panels.... Thanks!
To add locks for two doors will usually run you around $140 at a shop on top of the alarm. Alot less if you do the labor yourself. The door panels will stay the same also.
I know somebodys gotta know how to run the solenoids to pop the locks....I can do the alarm install myself...but Im not sure what all I need to do the locks...
what you will have do do is add acuators ( motors) to each door. the purpose of these are to duplicate the motion of the latch by locking or unlocking that you would do by hand. Depending on who will be doing the install ( you or a hired gun)
you may want to look into a sysytem that has on board relays to work said motors.
That way you only have to run the control wires to each motor.
